Julie Engel, PCC, PhD

Julie works with leaders, managers and teams to soberly face and effectively navigate the reality of today’s world. Her work focuses on supporting leaders across private, public and civil society sectors who are committed to being catalysts for positive change in the world. She integrates a broad range of approaches and tools into her work with clients, including: emotional intelligence, mindful awareness, frameworks for building effective and satisfying work relationships, practices for sustaining well-being, somatics and applied neurobiology.

Julie is a Certified Integral Coach and Certified Hakomi Practitioner

  • Supporting individual contributors as they move into management and leadership roles.
  • Facilitating teams in aligning on mission and goals and creating plans for implementation.

  • Working with staff at all levels to cultivate their ability to lead from wherever they sit in their organization.

  • Senior Fellow, Babson College Lewis Institute for Social Innovation.
  • Founding faculty, Master in Design for Social Innovation program, School of Visual Arts, New York, 2012-2013.
  • Senior Research Associate, Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, 2001-2007. There, she supported executives and managers in effectively catalyzing change toward more responsible and sustainable business practice through applied research, consultation, coaching and facilitating a peer-to-peer learning network of corporate responsibility executives from fourteen Fortune 500 companies.

Julie loves to dance, is a long-time yoga practitioner, and loves good movies, good conversation and art. Her long-term spiritual practice is dedicated to being wholeheartedly present in life, contributing to a more loving, just and sustainable world.

She lives with her wonderful partner, Shikhar, in Cambridge, Massachusetts and has three grown sons she adores and enjoys.
