EPP offers group-facilitated programs for incarcerated men and women, using the Enneagram to inspire transformation—on both sides of the bars—through self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-regulation. Students learn to find their own voice, to articulate newfound self-awareness, and demonstrate life-changing insights. EPP holds the space for those incarcerated to become conscious of the ways they can begin to hold themselves and live their lives. Several NVW faculty and graduates are involved with the project, teaching in institutions around the world and coaching the program’s ambassadors.

The purpose of Zen Center is to express, make accessible, and embody the wisdom and compassion of the Buddha. Today, San Francisco Zen Center is one of the largest residential training Soto Zen Buddhist organizations outside of Asia. It is a practice place for a diverse population of students, visitors, lay people, priests, and monks guided by teachers who follow in Suzuki Roshi’s style of warm hand and heart to warm hand and heart. Zen Center programs also reach out to the community, helping prisoners, the homeless, and those in recovery; protecting the environment; and working for peace.
