Charlotte Maure
Charlotte Maure has studied coaching with James Flaherty since 1985, and has been applying the principles of coaching to management since then. She received her professional certification in 2003, and has often worked with executives and managers both in the US and abroad who are taking on a new role _ a promotion, a new set of responsibilities within an organization.
She applies a combination of executive coaching and executive experience to help leaders and their teams exert focused, cohesive, results-oriented change in bureaucratic and politically charged environments. Ms. Maure has been involved in coaching, facilitation, strategic planning, change management, team development, and improving organizational performance for her entire career. Her coaching practice, centered on senior staff and C-level executives, focuses on the development of a leadership voice that encourages the contributions of others in the management of change. Recent coaching clients include a senior executive at a Los Angeles County Department, who was promoted during the assignment. He was most cited as an exemplary staff member who supports the overall team effort of the agency. Previously, Charlotte coached a woman in a major regulatory organization, who received the PresidentÍs Silver Award of achievement shortly after she completed her program. She has coached executives in the health services industry, and the Director of a Los Angeles County department.
Before becoming a coach and consultant, Charlotte worked in the governmental and financial services industries. Charlotte spent 20 years at the Port Authority of NY and NJ. She served as the Chief Operating Officer for the General Services Department, responsible for a budget of $60 million and a staff of over 500 unionized and professional staff. She implemented employee involvement and staff-run process improvement teams to include workers in change, within her spheres of responsibility. After leaving the Port Authority, she was responsible for managing the administrative transition of a financial services firm with 400 clients to a retail-oriented mutual fund presence. A long-distance sailor, Charlotte sometimes uses the distinctions and metaphors of sailing in her program development.
Charlotte is a certified professional coach and holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor's Degree in History, from Vassar College. She also is certified to teach Coaching to Excellence, a two-day course in the fundamentals of integral coaching.
