Adam Grancell
Adam is passionate about helping people grow and learn. In his coaching practice, Adam works with leaders who are motivated not to just solve point problems, but to develop for the long term. His work as a business leader and people manager, his academic background, and his experience partnering with leaders at all levels enables Adam to understand business context, quickly build trusting relationships, and facilitate the change his clients want to see.
Coaching
Adam began his coaching journey in 2010, when he trained as a coach in GoogleÕs "Career GuruÓ program and volunteered to coach Google employees across functions. Adam expanded his involvement at Google to leadership and manager coaching, as well as facilitating manager training, team offsites, and team effectiveness sessions. Adam has been supporting Executive MBA teams at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business since 2020, and in 2022 he completed a professional coaching program at New Ventures West and began taking on private clients.
Adam is credentialed with the International Coaching Federation, and he is certified to administer Hogan and MBTI assessments.
Career history
Adam started his career in science and technology, beginning with an undergraduate degree from Stanford and a PhD from MIT -- both in Biology. While science was conceptually interesting, he felt too removed from people. He returned to the Bay Area in time to ride the dot com wave. For most of the past 25 years, Adam has worked at tech companies from a 15-person startup to Google and Facebook, in roles across engineering, sales, professional services, strategy & operations, and human resources. Most recently, he was Chief of Staff and Head of People Development & Culture at Nutanix, where he coached and advised executives on organizational, team, and personal transformation.
Personal information
Adam grew up in Los Angeles and now lives in San Jose, California. He is dad to two teenagers and a cat. He enjoys yoga, hiking, cooking, beer, and generally nerding out.
